What is Hope Team?

Hope Team is a program for those ages 4-8 who aren’t quite ready to compete on our competitive team. Our CWST Junior Coaches work with your swimmer(s) to help them gain confidence in the pool with the "hope" they'll graduate to our competitive swim team and become a Stingray!

Registration/Evaluation

• **NEW** This year, registration fees for Hope Team will match main registration rates and schedule.
• **NEW** Registration for Hope Team is on the same registration form as the competitive team. There is a section to indicate which swimmer(s) you are specifically enrolling.
• **NEW** Registration is capped at 20 swimmers, regardless of skill level. Once 20 swimmers are registered, you will be asked to be placed on a waiting list. Please email the board at [email protected] to be placed on the waiting list. Swimmers tend to progress quickly through the program. As spots open on Hope Team you will be notified and asked to report to Hope Team practice.
• Hope Team swimmers are not subject to the sibling discount.
• After evaluations, but before practices begin, if you or your swimmer(s) decide not to participate, a refund will be issued minus the $45 fees required for insurance and team fees.
• Once practices begin, registration is nonrefundable.

Practices

• Our Junior Coaches are always in the water with your swimmer(s).
• Coach/child ratio is usually 1:1, but may sometimes be 1:3
• Practices are usually 4:00 - 4:30pm Monday-Friday, starting the final week of April through most of May. Please check the website and our Facebook page frequently for any practice time changes.
• The last Hope team practice will be May 28^th.

Graduation to CWST

• If at any time your child is able to float/swim for the ENTIRE length of the pool, he/she will graduate to our competitive team and become a Stingray!
• To move up to CWST, your child must be able to complete a lap without touching the bottom or stopping.

FAQs

• No floaties are allowed
• Parents of Hope team are not required to complete volunteer hours for hope team unless their child makes the competitive team, at which point our Volunteer Director will be in touch.
