What is Swim-A-Thon?
WHO: Team swimmers of all ages can participate, even our Hope Team swimmers! This is an opportunity to have fun, meet new friends, and support a great swim team.
WHAT: Swim-a-thon is a major fundraiser for our team, and the only one all season. It’s always great fun and a welcomed break from regular practices. No one has to sell cookie dough or trinkets, and it’s a great way to celebrate the last day of school!!! Swimmers collect pledges, earn cool prizes and have a wonderful time playing in and around the pool with their friends. If you’ve been wondering how to get one of those beautiful, personalized team beach towels, this is your only chance to earn one! Each swimmer/family is asked to raise at least $50.00.
WHEN: Thursday, May 29th from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M.
WHERE: Covington Woods Pool
WHY: The money raised from Swim-A-Thon goes to coaches’ salaries, equipment and prizes, and, most importantly, helps keep our registration fees low! We also have a scholarship fund for one graduating senior this year!
HOW: Each swimmer will obtain pledges either per lap or flat donation. Any pledge, large or small, will be accepted. You can swim, walk or float, and you may come at whatever time is convenient for you between 5:00 P.M. and ending promptly at 9:00. Swimmers may take a 5-minute per hour restroom/drink break. Two pieces of pizza will be provided to each participant. Additional pizza will be available for purchase (Absolutely no eating until the swimmer finishes swimming laps!) Any swimmer who swims 100 laps and has raised any amount will receive a 100 lap prize. Money is due by Saturday, May 31st to qualify for prizes. Please make sure when making a donation online to insert your swimmer name, so we can ensure you get credit for the donation!
99 PLEDGES: We partnered with 99Pledges to streamline fundraising and create a better experience for all! Each swimmer should have received an email with a link to their individual platform to raise money! We encourage each swimmer to personalize their page to make it for for them. Then, send your link to family and friends to start raising money. Using this platform will allow parents/guardians to track how much their swimmer raised and who donated (YAY!)
Parents are asked to please bring the following items according to last name:
A –H: SNACKS (CHIPS, PRETZELS, CHEX MIX, TRAIL MIX ETC.)
I – M: FRUIT (GRAPES, STRAWBERRIES, WATERMELON ETC.)
N – R: DESSERT (COOKIES, CUPCAKES, BROWNIES ETC.)
S - Z: DRINKS (WATER, GATORADE, FRUIT JUICE, SODA)
