Hello Stingray Families! My name is Coach Jerome Muniz, but most of the kids know me as DC. I have been the Head Coach of the Stingrays for over the past 10 years. Before becoming head coach, I served as Meet Director for two years and an assistant coach for two years. Originally from Corpus Christi, TX, I graduated from Mary Carroll HS in 2000 and The University of Houston in 2005. I am an AP Environmental Science Teacher, AVID Elective Teacher, and the Head Varsity Swim Coach at Kempner High School in Fort Bend ISD. I have been teaching for 17 years and coaching for 16 years. My goal every summer with the team is to provide every person with a positive, competitive experience that makes every summer a memorable one!
I've been a part of the Stingray Family since 2004! This will be my 7th year as an assistant coach and couldn't be more excited for the new season. I'm also a student at the University of Houston, working on my elementary teaching degree. I am so grateful for CWST and proud to have been a part of it for the past 18 years. I've grown so much love for the sport of swimming and wish to share that with all swimmers on the team.
Hey Stingrays, Coach Kurt here! I began my Covington Woods swim career in 2007, graduating in 2020, serving as a Junior Coach my last 4 years. After a year hiatus, I came back in 2022 as an assistant coach, making this my second year back with the team. I found a home in the Stingray family early on and have never looked back. I finished my swim career with 14 years as a Stingray, and 4 years with Kempner High School, serving as the KHS Men's Captain my senior year. I'm attending Houston Christian University as a music and creative writing major, and take a lot of pride in being able to bring my swimming and leadership experience to the team that helped make me who I am today. (P.S. My favorite team cheer is a tie between the Banana cheer and We Are Stingrays.)
Hello, Stingrays!! My name is Coach Drake, and I am looking forward to the 2023 season. This will be my second year as a coach with the team. I swam for all four years of high school and joined the Stingrays in 2021 and 2022. Last year was an excellent season, and I was thankful for the opportunity to get to know both swimmers and parents alike. I'm excited to see what occurs this year, and I reckon we'll have a great summer!
Hey Stingrays! My name is Sam Ang and I am super excited to coach this year! I have a lengthy resume of swim experience, including over 14 years under my belt as a part of summer league, high school, and club swim. I most recently swam summer league in 2020 where I was a member of CWST and have loved the team ever since. I enjoy all aspects of swimming and look forward to sharing my passion for the sport with the rest of my CWST family!
