Associate Head Coach - Stephanie Boehm

Stephanie has been a part of the Stingray Family since 2004!  This will be her 5th year as an assistant coach and couldn't be more excited for the new season.  Stephanie is also a student at the University of Houston, working on her elementary teaching degree.  She is so grateful for CWST and proud to have been a part of it for the past 18 years.  She has grown so much love for the sport of swimming and wishes to share that with all swimmers on the team.

Assistant Coach - Kurt Kauffman

Kurt began his 14-year Covington Woods swim career in 2007, graduating in 2020. After a year hiatus, he’s excited to be back at the pool as a 2022 assistant coach. Though never a spectacular swimmer, he found a home in the Stingray family and has never looked back. Kurt attends Houston Baptist University as a music and creative writing major, and tries to go through his everyday life by being passionate about what he does while having fun doing it.

Assistant Coach - Drake Nguyen

2022 will be Drake's first season as an assistant coach. As a swimmer for his high school and Covington Woods during the 2021 season, Drake has developed a love for the sport and everything about it. He will be attending the University of Houston in the fall of 2022. Drake hopes to inspire and support every swimmer on the team and will do his best to ensure everyone has a summer of fun.

At the Meets

Bring a positive attitude to endure the heat and the organized chaos, a chair, towels, sunscreen, plenty of water, snacks (optional â€" there is usually a concession stand), and a sun hat or umbrella.

  1. Check in with the child's Team Parent. (VERY IMPORTANT)
  2. Sit near the Team Parent if possible (especially important for the 8 and under swimmers). Have your child get with the Team Parent for line ups at least 2 events prior to their swim
  3. Look for the Meet Director or Volunteer Coordinator and ask if you can help. (There are lots of things to do!)
  4. After the meet, clean up your area, check for personal items, and help put up the equipment at home meets

Criteria for Making the Team

  • To make the team, swimmers must be able to swim one length of the pool without touching the sides, ropes, or bottom and without stopping (see Hope Team policy below)
  • 7&ups may be required to swim two lengths of the pool and all strokes (Freestyle, Breast, Back, and Butterfly)
